If u think that your brembos that u probably took off another car are performing the way they were intended to, you're living in a dream world. Brakes aren't one size fits all applications. You're justifying your purchase by hiding behind the brand name, when in reality you have no clue about how throwing any random kit on a car is actually detrimental to your braking performance. Guess you've never heard of brake bias, or this crazy notion of application specific products. It's this crazy idea that these really smart guys, I think they're called engineers, like, make the brakes for a car according to, like, its BMC diameter, rotor sizes, and like pads used and stuff. A brembo kit designed for an evo won't perform anywhere near what its designers intended it to. I don't know where you got your kit from, its an educated conjecture. I don't need to supply hard evidence again and again. I don't work for StopTech, I researched and saved and bought after determining the best BBK for me. I embarrassed someone else here a few months ago with hard numbers, search for the post, plenty of numbers (or should I say plenty of numbers withheld). Brake bias is important, who knew? StopTech has proprietary tech in their calipers which disallows copycatting. If you've held one in your hands and examined the calipers bridge and the built in vent, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The Akebono kit wasn't designed with our car in mind. Piston sizes weren't accounted for, etc. Heavy one piece rotors, adding incredible sprung weight, as well. Nissan learning a thing or two about brakes, Wtf are you talking about? If all the best of what we've learned was applied to consumer vehicles, we would all be driving $40k electric ferraris. That's not how you make money in a capitalist economy. If Nissan learned about brakes and aerodynamics/cooling, why are there reports of Nissan pads disintegrating in the Akebono kits? Better yet, why did they supply car and driver with a Z without proper brake fluid and pads for a intense run at a track? Why did they design the rotors to be heavy pieces of crap? And to answer your question, even though I haven't mentioned the words trophy kit once, is that yes the trophy kit is like a trophy wife. Both incite jealousy from Joe schmos with plain janes like yourself suffering from inferiority complexes ;) sally can go to JC penney all she wants, but sorry :( don't worry about my cash flow and what I spend on. You spend money on a camera taking pics of girls you'll never touch, I spend money on brakes. We all have our vices. I never told anyone to it trophys, I said buy StopTech. My comment to Hari was tongue in cheek. If you didn't catch that, please develop a sense of humor. StopTech has unparalleled pad choices. That noise you just heard was a slam dunk on your face
